Pakistan ranks far ahead of India in terms of Mobile Internet speed

According to a report by Ookla, titled ‘Global Speed-Test Index’ which ranks internet download speed in different countries, Pakistan stands 14 positions ahead of India in terms of mobile internet speed.

The report ranks internet download speed(mobile) in Pakistan at no. 116 whereas India is ranked at no. 130.

Speedtest.net, a subsidiary company of Ookla and one of the largest sites around the world when it comes for internet speed testing, measures download speeds over both mobile and broadband internet.

In terms of mobile internet, the average speed in Pakistan stands at 13.55 mbps, while in India it stands at 10.63 Mbps. However in terms of broadband internet, average speed in Pakistan stands at 9.02 Mbps, while in India it stands at 310.74 Mbps.

South Korea (97.44 Mbps) was declared the country with the top broadband internet download speed. It was followed by Australia with 63.34 Mbps, Qatar with 61.72 Mbps, UAE with 61.24 Mbps and Norway with 60.90 Mbps.

Ookla releases such reports every month on the bases of data collected from all around the world.

Pakistan being one of the fastest in terms of mobile internet speed is largely due to the Telecom operators in Pakistan who have been at the forefront of introducing innovative and economical internet packages
