Two cops martyred in hand grenade explosion, Karachi

Karachi: At least two police officials were martyred and two others injured in a hand grenade explosion at the police headquarters in Garden area of Karachi.

According to the police, the explosion took place in the armory of the Headquarters Garden. The martyred officials were identified as 45-year-old constable Sabir and 40-year-old Shahzad, while the injured officials include 40-year-old Ali Gohar and 55-year-old Saeed.

SSP CTD informed the reporters that the incident took place when the grenades were taken out of the armory for cleaning purposes.

“The grenade was in the hands of a policeman when the blast occurred,” DIG CTD said.
