Reality behind Amir Khan’s charity
NEW DELHI: Numerous celebrities have donated money to help the common folks in this time of need as the coronavirus pandemic takes over the world, an innovative method of charity adopted by Bollywood star Amir Khan came out to be a fake news.
A few days back, a story circulated over social media that depicted this creative idea of charity by Amir Khan gained tremendous followings. According to the post, Amir Khan hid Rs. 15,000 cash inside the 1 kg flour packets.
Some facebook users even shared collage of 3 images with the caption, “Amir Khan– 1 kg Aata but 15k inside. The posts mentioned that the aid was meant for real, deserving people and the idea of hiding Rs. 15,000 in a 1-kg Flour bag was adopted to ensure that only the real needy people get the aid.
While these reports confirm that Amir Khan was not involved in any such charity drive, according to a Hindustan Times report published on April 6, 2020, the Bollywood actor Aamir Khan donated an unrevealed amount to the PM Cares Fund and the Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund Besides, he has also provided financial support to various voluntary organizations and daily wage earners for his upcoming films.
